The Reedham Trust Golf Day 2008 The Reedham Trust Golf Day took place on Thursday 26 June 2008 at Croham Hurst Golf Club, We are delighted that over
£4,700 was raised from the event and thank all our teams for their generosity. ___________________________________
The Reedham Trust benefited from a concert which took place on 3 February 2008 at the Menuhin Hall, Stoke d’Abernon, Surrey given by The London Primavera Chorus. The chorus and guest soloists, under the direction of Douglas Reed, performed Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. Proceeds from the Concert are to be divided between The Reedham Trust and three other charities founded by Douglas Reed's paternal ancestor, the Rev Dr Andrew Reed, over 150 years ago – The Royal Wanstead Children's Foundation, The Royal Hospital for Neurodisability and The Reed's School Foundation. ___________________________________
"Reedham 2" just pipped them by swimming 141 lengths. Their swimmers were Neil Miller (captain), Stuart Knight, Elaine Knight, Matthew Knight, Richard Knight, Louisa Knight, Henry Stanley, George Stanley, Chris Ackerley and Rob Ackerley. We are delighted to report that the sum of £995 was raised from the sponsorship of our swimmers and this sum will go directly towards our work of assisting children in need. Very many thanks to all our swimmers for their excellent efforts. Also our thanks also to everyone who sponsored them - and to all those who came along to support them on the evening of the event. ___________________________________
The Chairman of Reedham's Fundraising Committee, Douglas Reed, is the great great great grandson of our founder Dr. Andrew Reed, a continuous line in which each intervening generation has made a personal contribution to the Trust. Douglas Reed writes:- "Dr. Andrew Reed was a remarkable fundraiser for his time and this remains the activity which can ensure long-term security and stability for the Trust. Reedham has survived this length of time because of the hard work of those responsible for its welfare and also the sustaining power Reedham holds through its work in helping disadvantaged children." If you are interested in helping the Trust in its
fundraising activities we should be
pleased to hear from you.
